A teenager died after jumping into water in Barguna

A teenager named Tariqul Islam (11) died after jumping into the water from the sluice gate at Taltali in Barguna.
The incident took place on Friday (April 26) at around 11:30 in the Chakina area of the upazila. The deceased Tariqul Islam is the son of Abdus Salam of the same area.
Locals said that Tariqul Islam went to take a bath with his father at the sluice gate in front of the house in Chakhina area of Sonakata union of the upazila. Meanwhile, Tariqul jumped into the water from the top of the sluice gate. He fell in the water and got hit in the chest and sank. Later, the child was rescued and taken to the Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Taltali Police Station Shahidul Islam Khan said that the police have been sent to the hospital after receiving the information. Legal action will be taken later.
