Academic activities will be closed in Chuet till May 11 and academic activities will start from May 12 the next day.
The public relations department of the university has confirmed that this decision was taken at the syndicate meeting of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CHUTE) on Friday.

The Chuet authorities announced the closure of the campus on Thursday in the face of student protests over the death of two students in a road accident.
In an emergency meeting of the academic council of the university yesterday afternoon, the authorities ordered the boys to vacate the hall yesterday and the girls by 10 am today.
Angered by this decision, the agitating students locked the university vice-chancellor’s office and set fire to one of the two buses seized from them.
Later today the atmosphere became normal with the announcement of withdrawing from the movement.
Traffic is normal on the Chittagong-Kaptai road from this Friday morning. The main gate of Chuet has been opened.
Due to the agreement with the administration, the students are staying in the residential hall.
Two students of Chuet, Shanto Saha and Tawfiq Hossain, were killed by a bus on Monday afternoon. After this, ordinary students became angry.
On Tuesday around 10 am, they took a position on the Chittagong-Kaptai road. Traffic stopped on that road.
