Dhaka, April 26, 2024 (BSS): The Meteorological Office has said that the heat wave that is spreading over 26 districts of the country may continue on Friday.
According to the weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 9 am today, very intense heatwave is sweeping over Chuadanga and Jessore districts. Intense heat wave is passing over other districts of Khulna division including Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalganj, Manikganj, Rajshahi, Pabna, Dinajpur and Nilphamari districts and Dhaka, Madaripur, Kishoreganj, Narsingdi, Bogra, Naogaon, Sirajganj, Rangpur, Kurigram, Panchagarh, Mymensingh, Moulvibazar. , Rangamati, Chandpur, Feni and Bandarban districts along with mild to moderate heat wave is prevailing over Barisal division and may continue.
It is also said that there may be temporary gusty or stormy rain or thundershower at two places in Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and also scattered hailstones at some places.
Elsewhere in the country, the weather will remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky. Day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country. Excess water vapor may cause discomfort.
According to the weather synoptic, an extension of the low pressure is located over West Bengal and adjoining areas.
The relative humidity of the air in Dhaka at 6 am today was 88 percent.
Yesterday, the highest temperature in the country was 42.4 degrees Celsius in Jessore and the lowest temperature was 20.6 degrees Celsius in Tentulia. The maximum temperature in Dhaka yesterday was 39.1 degrees Celsius.
