Press Release: Burn and acid burn patients are at risk of being deprived of emergency services due to lack of burn unit in Satkhira Medical College, people of Satkhira district. On Thursday morning, 25 April 2024, during the exchange of views with the doctors and nurses on duty of the emergency department of the medical college, the representatives of the donor organization Action Aid and Swadesh learned that there is currently no special arrangement for burn patients in the hospital, although the burn unit section has been kept in Has Patal, it has not yet been opened. As a result, any burn patient is actually provided services through the surgery department, said the doctors and nurses of the emergency department. Besides, no specialist doctor has been appointed yet to treat burn patients and there is no modern setting unit. Due to this, the people of the district are not getting special medical care and there is no separate system for acid burn emergency patients. Many patients from outside the district come to get treatment at Satkhira Medical College Hospital. Immediately, common patients and residents of the district demanded to start the Born Unit in the hospital urgently.
