Chuadanga recorded the highest temperature in the country today at 42.7 degrees Celsius. Air humidity is 11 percent. The first class meteorological observatory located in Hatkaluganj of the municipal area recorded this temperature at 3 pm.

Officials of the Department of Meteorology said that this is the highest temperature in the country so far this season. Earlier on Saturday, the highest temperature of the season was recorded at 42.6 degrees Celsius in Jessore, another district of Khulna division. The maximum temperature recorded at Chuadanga that day was 42.4 degrees Celsius.

Jaminur Rahman, the officer-in-charge of the Meteorological Observatory, said that geographically, the location of Chuadanga district is close to the Tropic of Cancer. As a result, the sun heats up Chuadanga district all the time during this summer. Apart from this, the surrounding districts of India including West Bengal and Chuadanga are plains. Due to which the temperature spreads easily. There should be plenty of rainfall to protect against the heat. Also there should be reservoir and plenty of plants.
