Baghaichhari Upazila Executive Officer (ENO) Shirin Akhter has confirmed that the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority will pay Tk 5 lakh to the families of those killed in the road accident and Tk 2 lakh to the families of the injured. Also, Baghaichhari upazila administration paid Tk 10,000 in cash to transport the body. He confirmed this information on Thursday afternoon. UNO said that currently the bodies of 7 people have been handed over to their families. The remaining 2 bodies are being identified. The bodies are in Khagrachari Sadar Hospital mortuary and some of the injured have been sent to Dhaka for better treatment while the rest are undergoing treatment at Khagrachari Hospital, he said. The accident took place on the way to Udaipur in Sajek on Wednesday afternoon in the ninety degree area of ​​Sajek-Udaipur border road. At that time, the dump truck fell into a deep ditch and 9 people were killed. Among them, 6 people were killed on the spot and 8 people were injured. 3 of the injured were in critical condition. These three fell to their death a few hours after the incident. The deceased are Jasim Uddin son of Ramur Abdus Sukkur of Cox’s Bazar, Ershadul son of Riyasat Ali of Ishwarganj, Mymensingh, Abdul Mohan of Kishoreganj, Babu of the same area, Oli Ullah of Kapasia of Gazipur, Sagar of the same area, Shah Alam son of Shahidullah of Ishwarganj, Mymensingh, Tapu Hasan son of Abdul Jabbar of Gouripur, Mymensingh and Mymensingh.
