A traffic inspector named Ruhul Amin fell ill suddenly while on duty at the Sonamsjid land port of Chapainawabganj in a severe heatwave. After that, when he was taken to the hospital, the doctor on duty declared him dead.

The incident took place on Thursday (April 25) at around 12:30 PM at the land port of Panama. Deceased Ruhul Amin is the son of Korban Ali, a resident of Benapole Municipality, Jessore.

Shibganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sajjad Hossain said, “Traffic Inspector Ruhul Amin of Panama Port Link Ltd. was inspecting trucks within the port area. He fell ill after returning to his office around 12:40 PM. Colleagues quickly took him to Shibganj Health Complex, where doctors on duty declared him dead.”

Shibganj Upazila Health Complex doctor Al-Aqsa Mahal said, “Ruhul Amin was brought to the hospital in a dead state. Later post-mortem it was found that he died due to stroke. The body is in the hospital.”

Chapainawabganj civil surgeon SM Mahmudur Rashid said, “Those who brought Ruhul Amin to the hospital said that he (Ruhul Amin) was thirsty; He wanted to drink water. However, it cannot be confirmed that his death was due to heatstroke. It’s very hot now, so that might have an effect.”
