Even though 15 days have passed since the murder of Mohammad Saber, a businessman of Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar, no accused has been arrested by the police.
Plaintiffs and the relatives of the victims have complained that the police are not arresting the 9 accused in the case even though they are in public for mysterious reasons. Rather, the influential defendant is threatening the relatives of the case plaintiffs in various ways.
However, the police say that the police have continued their efforts to arrest the accused in this case.
Deceased Mohammad Saber (35) son of deceased Mohammad Hashem of South Jaliyapara of Teknaf municipality and he was a shoemaker in the municipality Burmese market.
On the afternoon of April 2, because of a quarrel in his shop, the son of Noor Hochen of Madhyam Jaliyapara Md. A group of people led by Yasin brought Saber out of the shop and beat him up. Saber died on the night of April 10. The body was buried on April 11. In this regard, a murder case was filed in Teknaf police station on April 13, mentioning the names of 9 people.
Mohammad Chadek, the brother of the deceased Saber, is the plaintiff in the case filed. Making Yasin the main accused, the other accused are father Noor Hochen, Mohammad Salman, Abdullah, Sohag, Bablu, Abdul Jabbar, Emran, Kefayet.
The plaintiff in the case said that even after 15 days of the incident, the police did not arrest any accused for mysterious reasons. Even visible police operations and activities are not seen. Rather, these influential accused are roaming openly. And he is threatening his family members in various ways. On the contrary, they are insecure.
In this regard, OC of Teknaf police station Muhammad Osman Gani said that the allegations of the plaintiff in the case are not true. Police chief is continuing to nab accused Yasin and his father along with other accused. In this case, the accused are absconding. For which the help of information technology is being taken. He said that it will be possible to arrest the accused soon.
