Faridpur: The Minister of Fisheries and Animal Resources said about the murder of two teenage laborers in Madhukhali, Faridpur. Abdur Rahman said, those who have no caste, those who have no religion, beat the two workers to death. They are murderers.

This phenomenon has also been compared to medieval barbarism.

He said this while addressing the chief guest at the social harmony committee meeting organized by Madhukhali upazila administration on Thursday (April 25) afternoon.

The minister said that the criminals thought that they would get away with the murder. There is no chance. They will be brought to justice. The accused will be tried by hanging for the maximum penalty of murder as per the law. Meanwhile, 15 accused have been arrested in this incident. In our society, who is Hindu, who is Muslim, who is of any caste; It’s not a big deal, we’re all human. No one can accept this incident. Everyone stands by the bereaved family.

Addressing the law and order forces, the minister said, “You are working hard to uncover the facts of the murders.” Some may be trying to influence the situation in other direction. Be careful in that regard. This peaceful area will not be disturbed in any way. The incident that happened will be judged soon. Inshallah, the parents of the two brothers who died will be able to see it.

Addressing the residents and local public representatives, this member of the Awami League presidium said that he held a meeting with local leaders at the ward, union and upazila levels. Convince the people that justice will be done soon for the murder of the two workers. Do not incite anything by being emotional about the incident. Be in guard position in the area. If necessary, you should cooperate with the administration by giving correct information.

He said, “I will welcome any party or any organization who comes to console this family with garlands of flowers.” However, no exemption will be given to those who create any kind of disturbance by issuing this incident.

Madukhali Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mamnoon Ahmed Anik spoke at the reconciliation committee meeting, among others, Shahjahan Sheikh, father of the two deceased workers, Madukhali Circle ASP Mizanur Rahman, Faridpur Islamic Foundation Deputy Director Shahabuddin Ahmed, Upazila Awami League General Secretary Rezaul Haque Baku, Municipal Mayor Morshed Rahman Limon, Ujandia Model Mosque Imam Hafez Alam Hossain, Upazila Puja Celebration Committee President Subas Roy and others.

The meeting was attended by BGB Deputy Commander Major Badrul Huda Akram, leaders of various political parties, all UP chairmen and members of various classes and professions.

Earlier on Wednesday (April 24) night, the minister went to the house of the two deceased brothers at Choperghat in Naopara and condoled with them and visited the scene of the incident in Panchapally. Railway Minister Zillul Hakim also visited the spot along with Livestock Minister. Both the ministers assured exemplary punishment to those involved in the incident.

On April 18, around 7:30 pm, two teenagers brothers Ashraful Khan (17) and Arshadul Khan (15) were killed by beating them with bamboo, sticks and rods and crushing them with bricks on suspicion of setting fire to the Kali temple in Panchpalli, Dumain, Madhukhali. Five others were seriously injured. Three cases have been filed in the local police station. A total of 15 accused have been arrested so far.

The local angry crowd blocked the Faridpur-Jeshore highway from the morning to 3:30 pm last Tuesday (April 23) to demand justice for those accused of beating two brothers to death. For this reason, 4 platoons of BGB and additional police were deployed in the concerned areas under the leadership of the district administration in the second phase on Wednesday (April 24) morning. The law and order forces are on high alert as the situation prevails across the district regarding the issue.
