At the social harmony committee meeting in Faridpur’s Madhukhali, Fisheries and Livestock Minister Md. Abdur Rahman referring to the incident of killing of two laborers on the charge of fire in Panchpalli temple said, ‘those who have no caste, those who have no religion’ beat the two workers to death. They are murderers. This event beat even medieval barbarism.
He said that those who had committed the incident were neither Muslims nor Hindus. They have no religion.
Fisheries and Livestock Minister and Awami League presidium member Bir Muktijoddha Abdur Rahman said these things while delivering the chief guest speech at the social harmony committee meeting organized by Faridpur’s Madhukhali upazila administration on Thursday (April 25) afternoon. On the previous day, on Wednesday night, Fisheries and Livestock Minister Abdur Rahman MP went to the house of the two deceased brothers and offered condolences and visited the scene.
The minister said that the criminals thought that they would get away with this murder! He has no chance. The perpetrators of the murder will be brought to justice and the maximum punishment for murder will be ensured as per the law. Already 15 accused have been arrested in this incident. In our society, who is Hindu, who is Muslim or what race is not a big issue, we are all human beings. No one can accept this incident. Everyone stands by the bereaved family.
The minister said to the law and order forces, “You are working hard to uncover the facts of the murders.” Some may be trying to influence the situation in other direction. Be careful in that regard. No way this peace loving area will be allowed to be disturbed. A proper trial of what happened will happen soon. Inshallah, the parents of the two brothers who were killed will be able to see it.
The Awami League presidium member and fisheries minister said for the residents and local public representatives, meetings were held with local leaders at the ward, union and upazila levels. Convince the people that justice will be done soon for the murder of the two workers. Don’t get emotional about the incident and provoke anything. Be in guard position in the area. If necessary, you should cooperate with the administration by giving correct information. He said, I will welcome any group or any organization who will come to console this family with garlands of flowers. However, no exemption will be given to those causing trouble by issuing this incident.
Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Mamnoon Ahmed Anik chaired the reconciliation committee meeting, among others, Shahjahan Sheikh, father of the two deceased workers, Madukhali Circle ASP Mizanur Rahman, Faridpur Islamic Foundation Deputy Director Shahabuddin Ahmed, Upazila Awami League General Secretary Rezaul Haque Baku, Municipal Mayor Morshed Rahman. Limon, Ujandia Model Mosque Imam Hafez Alam Hossain, Upazila Puja Celebration Committee President Subas Roy and others. The meeting was attended by BGB Deputy Commander Major Badrul Huda Akram, leaders of various political parties, all UP Chairman and members and people from different walks of life.
