Narail: Naval police recovered the body of Alif Biswas (24), a mentally challenged youth, floating in the river two days after he went missing in Kalia upazila of Narail.

On Thursday (April 25) afternoon, the naval police recovered his body while floating in the Navganga river of Deodanga Madhavpasha area of ​​the upazila.

Ahad Chowdhury, in-charge of Baradia Naval Police outpost confirmed the recovery of the body.

Alif Biswas is the son of Tanu Biswas of Pirolishan Madhyapara area of ​​Panchgram Union of Upazila. He was mentally retarded.

The relatives of the deceased said that Alif left the house around 7 pm last Tuesday (April 23). Even before this, he used to leave the house several times and return after two or three days, so the relatives started looking for their own without any complaint. Later, two days after the disappearance, on Thursday (April 25) noon, Alif’s relatives came to Madhavpasha area and identified the body. They said the deceased Alif was mentally challenged.

In this regard, Ahad Chowdhury, in charge of Baradia Naval Police Outpost, said that the boy was mentally challenged through his relatives. He went missing two days ago. His body was found half-decomposed in Madhavpasha area of ​​Kalia. The body has been sent to Narail Sadar Hospital for post-mortem with a case of wrongful death in this regard.
