A traffic inspector named Ruhul Amin (42) died of ‘heat stroke’ while on duty at Sonamsjid land port of Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj. On Thursday (April 25) around 12:30 noon, he fell seriously ill while on duty at Panama Sonamsjid Port Link Limited. Later, his colleagues rushed him to the Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

The deceased was working as a traffic inspector of Bangladesh Land Port Authority at Sonamsjid Land Port. He is the son of Korban Ali of Benapole area of ​​Sharsha Upazila of Jessore.

Tipu Sultan also said that Ruhul Amin was sent to the hospital in the port car. He fell ill due to extreme heat. Colleagues quickly took him to the Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Sajjad Hossain, OC of Shibganj police station, said that he suddenly fell ill while performing duties in the yard of Panama Sonamsjid Port Link Limited, the managing company of the land port. At that time, he was rushed to the Upazila Health Complex and the doctor in charge declared him dead. His body will be handed over to his family after the legal process.

Chapainawabganj civil surgeon SM Mahmudur Rashid said that traffic inspector Ruhul Amin died before he was brought to the upazila health complex. Those who brought him to the hospital said he was thirsty and wanted to drink water.

Al-Aqsa Mahal, the doctor in charge of Shibganj Upazila Health Complex, said that Ruhul Amin was brought to the hospital in a dead state. An ECG later showed that he had died of a stroke.
