Gold has been recording a price increase for quite some time. However, the price of gold has been reduced in two stages after this. This time, for the third consecutive day, the price of gold has been reduced in the country’s market. The price of the best quality or 22 carat gold (11.664 grams) has been reduced by Tk 630 to Tk 1 lakh 13 thousand 561.

This information was informed in a circular signed by Chairman Masudur Rahman of Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee of Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) on Thursday (April 25).

It is said that the price of acidic gold has decreased in the local market. Therefore, considering the overall situation, Bangladesh Jewelery Association has fixed the new price of gold, which will be effective from 3.50 pm on Thursday.

According to the new price, the price of the best quality or 22 carat gold has been reduced by Tk 630 to Tk 1 lakh 13 thousand 561. The price of a 21 carat gold bar has been reduced by Tk 595 to Tk 1 lakh 8 thousand 405. Apart from this, the price of 18 carat gold has been reduced by 514 taka to 92 thousand 915 taka. And the traditional gold price has been reduced by 408 taka to 74 thousand 801 taka.

However, buyers have to pay more than this to buy gold jewellery. Because, gold jewelery is sold by adding 5 percent VAT on the Bajus fixed price. At the same time, the minimum wage per worker is 3 thousand 499 taka. As a result, buyers will have to pay 1 lakh 22 thousand 738 taka to buy a 22 carat gold jewelery from tomorrow Friday.

Earlier on Wednesday, the price of the best quality or 22 carat gold was reduced by Tk 2 thousand 99 to Tk 1 lakh 14 thousand 191. The price of a 21 carat gold bar has been reduced from 1 thousand 995 taka to 1 lakh 9 thousand taka.

Meanwhile, the price of silver has been kept unchanged. According to the category, currently the price of 22 carat silver is 2 thousand 100 taka, 21 carat is 2 thousand 6 taka, 18 carat is 1715 taka and the price of traditional silver is 1 thousand 283 taka.

Before this, the price of gold was cut in two rounds. Bajus reduced by 3 thousand 138 taka on April 23 and taka 2499 on April 24. That is, the price of gold has decreased by 5 thousand 868 taka for three consecutive days.
