Reed: Autopsy of nine people killed in Rangamati Sajeke road accident has been completed. Meanwhile, seven bodies have been handed over to the families.

A body has not been identified. The other is in the process of handing over to the family. Family members have taken four people under treatment to the hospital.

Earlier, two people were sent to Dhaka in critical condition on the day of the incident. However, the cause of the accident is not yet known.

Those killed in the accident are Jasim Uddin (28) son of Ramur Abdus Sukkur of Cox’s Bazar, Ershadul (30) son of Riyasad Ali of Ishwarganj, Mymensingh, Abul Mohan (18) son of Nazrul Islam of the same area, Tofazzal Hossain Babu (20), son of Chan Mia. Shah Alam (28) son of Shahidullah, Nayan (29) son of Helal Uddin, Oli Ullah Oli (40) son of Mohiuddin Moral of Kapasia area of ​​Mymensingh, Tapu Hasan (17) son of Abdul Jabbar of Gouripur and Sagar (20).

The injured are Samiul Uddin (19) son of Akhir Uddin of Gazipur, Amir Uddin (45) son of Hasan Ali of Dhaka, Zahid Hasan (24) son of Abdul Jabbar of Goripur, Mymensingh, son of Abul Hashem of Ishwarganj, Mymensingh. Mobarak Hossain (32), son of Lalon (27) and Maqbul Hossain, and Lalon Mia (18), son of Afzal Mia of Kurigram.

Baghaichhari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shirin Akhtar and Baghaichhari Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Abdul Awal Chowdhury along with BRTA officials visited Khagrachhari Sadar Hospital on Thursday (April 25) morning.

At that time, Shirin Akhtar on behalf of BRTA said that they will give 5 lakh taka to each family of the deceased and 2 lakh taka to each injured family. At the same time, each family will be given Tk 10,000 from the upazila administration for transporting the body, he said.

Earlier, the five deceased were brought to the hospital from Sajek police station. Later, the autopsies of all the bodies were completed one by one.

In the afternoon, the bodies of the rest except Sagar and Oli Ullah were handed over. The body will be handed over to Ali Ullah’s family. However, the identity of Sagar has not been confirmed yet. They are kept in the hospital’s freezer.

Baghaichhari Assistant Superintendent of Police Abdul Awal Chowdhury said that two bodies have been kept in the freezer. The family will actually be handed over. The cause of such an accident can be said subject to investigation, he said. He also said that the case is under process.

On Wednesday (April 24) afternoon, goods and workers were going to Udaipur from various areas including Gazipur to work on the border road. At that time, the truck lost control while coming down from a mountain road in the area called 90 degrees and fell into a ditch and overturned. Five people were killed on the spot. 10 injured people were brought to Khagrachari Sadar Hospital and 4 others died. In the night, two people were sent to Dhaka in critical condition.
