Mahmuda Khanam Mitu
Chittagong: The interrogation of Mitu’s mother Shaheda Musharraf in the case of the murder of Mahmuda Khanum Mitu, the wife of former police superintendent Babul Akhtar, has ended. The testimony of 49 people including Shaheda Musharraf in the case has ended.
On Thursday (April 25), Chittagong’s third additional metropolitan session judge Md. This testimony was taken in the court of Jasim Uddin.
Court bench assistant Neshar Ahmed told Banglanews that the interrogation of Mitu’s mother Shaheda Musharraf in Mitu’s murder case has ended.
A total of 45 people have completed their testimony in the case. The court has fixed May 13 for the next hearing of the case.
According to the case documents, on the morning of June 5, 2016, Mitu was publicly shot and hacked to death while going to hand over her son to the school bus at GEC junction in Chittagong city. The rest of the accused in the case are Motaleb Mia alias Wasim, Anwar Hossain, Ehteshamul Haque Bhola, Shahjahan Mia, Kamrul Islam Shikder Mucha and Khairul Islam. After Mitu’s murder in 2016, her husband, then police officer Babul Akhtar, filed the case as a plaintiff. After various dramas, he is now the accused in the PBI investigation. Former SP Babul was in the Chittagong Metropolitan Police a few days before the incident. The murder took place in Chittagong soon after he went to join the workplace in Dhaka after being transferred.
