Mymensingh: Gafargaon upazila of the district went down to bathe with friends in the Brahmaputra river. A school student named Moshiur Rahman Huzzat (15) has died. In this incident, a shadow of grief has descended among the classmates and local residents.

His body was recovered from the river at around 5 pm on Thursday (April 25) in the Ghat area adjacent to Gafargaon Government College in Paur city.

When Hujjat went missing after jumping into the Brahmaputra river around 12 noon, the fire service personnel searched for his body for four hours.

The deceased Moshiur Rahman Huzzat was a class 10 student of Rostam Ali Golandaz High School in Huzzat town. His father md. Khalilur Rahman Rubel is a teacher of Abu Saidia Dakhil Madrasa of Niguari Union of Pagla Police Station of Gafargaon Upazila. He is said to be involved in local Awami League politics.

Gafargaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahinuzzaman Khan confirmed the death and said that a case of defamation has been filed in the police station. The matter of handing over the body to the family is under process.
