At least 30 people have died of heat stroke in Thailand this year. A new warning has been issued due to the intense heat wave. The country’s government issued this warning on Thursday.

According to the report of media CNA, an extreme heatwave warning has been issued in the capital, Bank. Temperatures in the tourist city are feared to exceed 52 degrees Celsius. A temperature of 40.1 degrees Celsius was recorded there on Wednesday. Almost similar temperatures are forecast for Thursday.

According to the Ministry of Health of Thailand, at least 30 people died of heat stroke in the country from January 1 to April 17. Earlier in 2023, 37 people lost their lives due to heat stroke in the country.

Direk Khampayen, deputy director-general of Thailand’s disease control department, said government officials urged the elderly and those suffering from severe and long-term illnesses to stay at home and drink plenty of water.

Southeast Asian countries including Thailand usually have the hottest weather in April. But due to the El Nino weather conditions, it has taken a terrible shape this year.

For the past few days, there has been a severe heat wave in various countries of South and Southeast Asia. Schools in the Philippines have been suspended in such a situation. An unprecedented heat wave has also started in Bangladesh. Source: CNA
