Dhaka: Since April 18, Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has been revising the gold market rates every day. The organization has revised the price of gold six times in the last 8 days. In the latest revision, the price of gold has been reduced by Tk 630. As a result, now it will take 1 lakh 13 thousand 561 taka to buy a load of 22 carat gold.

Bajus made the announcement in a press release on Thursday (April 25). The announcement came through a circular signed by Masudur Rahman, Chairman of the Bajus Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee. This new price of gold will be effective from today.

Earlier, on April 18, the price of gold rose to a record of Tk 1 lakh 19 thousand 638. From there on April 20, the price decreased to 1 lakh 18 thousand 780 taka. On April 21, the price of gold increased by Tk 648 to Tk 1 lakh 19 thousand 428. But on April 23, the price of gold dropped to 1 lakh 16 thousand 290 taka. On April 24, the price of gold decreased by 1 lakh 14 thousand 191 taka. That trend continued even today.

According to Bajus notification, the price of pure gold has decreased in the local market. Therefore, taking into account the overall situation, the new price of gold has been fixed in the meeting of the standing committee for price determination and price monitoring of bajus.

According to the new announcement of Bajus, from April 25, it will cost Tk 1 lakh 13 thousand 561 to buy good quality 22 carat gold (11.664 grams). Apart from this, the price of 21 carat gold has been fixed at Tk 1 lakh 8 thousand 405. 18 carat Pratibhari will cost Tk 92 thousand 915 and traditional style Pratibhari price has been fixed at Tk 74 thousand 801.

However, Bajus did not make any announcement to increase or decrease the price of silver on this day. According to the previous announcement, the price of 22 carat silver is 2 thousand 100 taka, 21 carat silver is 2 thousand 6 taka, 18 carat silver is 1 thousand 715 taka and traditional silver is 1 thousand 283 taka.

It should be noted that Bangladesh Jewelers Association re-fixed the price of gold on April 24.
