Another accused, SM Asaduzzaman (52), has been arrested in the death of retired ACC officer SM Shahidullah in police custody at Chandgaon police station in Chittagong under the Torture and Death in Custody (Prevention) Act. He is a resident of Chandgaon police station area of the city.
He was arrested by the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Metro Unit from Mozaffar Nagar area under Bayezid Bostami Police Station in the city around 11:30 am on Thursday (April 25). Three of the nine accused in the case were arrested.
Earlier, on the night of December 25, the accused Jasim Uddin from Rahattalpool area of Baklia police station and the accused Md. from Chawkbazar area of the city on February 12. Lytton was arrested.

On October 16, Chittagong Metropolitan Sessions Judge Dr. In Begum Zebunnesha’s court, when wife Fauzia Anwar filed a case against 9 people in connection with the death of retired ACC officer Shahidullah, the police ordered to record the case.
The defendants in the case are – Chandgaon Police Station OC Md. Khairul Islam, ASI Md. Yusuf, ASI Sohail Rana, Inspector (Investigation) Md. Mobinul Haque, SM Asaduzzaman (52), a resident of Chandgaon Thana area, Md. Jasim Uddin, Md. Litton, Ronnie Akhtar Tania (26) and Kali Akhtar (19).
