2 killed including Jubo League leader in road accident in Mymensingh

In Trishal and Phulpur upazilas of the district, two people, including a small league leader, were killed in separate accidents. Another person named Nazrul Islam Deepak was injured.

These accidents took place at separate places on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway and Mymensingh-Sherpur highway on Thursday (April 25) morning.

The deceased are Md. Shamim Parvez (30), the elder son of Md. Azharul Islam, councilor of Ward No. 4 of Trishal municipality. He was the former organizational secretary of Upazila Krinka League. But currently he was active with Jubo League politics. Suruj Ali (70) was killed by a truck.

Deputy Inspector (SI) of Trishal police station Md Ashraful Islam confirmed the truth of the accident and said that Jubo League leaders Shamim and Nazrul Islam Deepak were returning from Mymensingh to their home in Trishar by private means after selling pangus fish from their fishery in the bypass area of ​​Mymensingh. At that time, the private car carrying them suddenly lost control when it came to Nuru’s shop in Trishal upazila on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway and fell into the ditch and collided with an electric pole. Jubo League leader Shamim Parvez (35) died on the spot when the private car caught fire. Md. Nazrul Islam Deepak, who was with him, was seriously injured. The seriously injured Nazrul Islam Deepak is undergoing treatment at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

He also said that the body of the deceased has been recovered in this incident. If the deceased’s family applies for handing over the body without post-mortem. The body was handed over to the family.

On the other hand, an old man named Md Suruj Ali (70) was killed when he came out of his house to offer Fajr Namaz in Mymensingh’s Phulpur.

He said that when the deceased Suruj Ali went out to offer Fajr prayers, he was suddenly hit by a speeding truck coming from Mymensingh at Imadpur on the Mymensingh-Sherpur highway. He died on the spot.

The body of the deceased has been recovered in this incident. Along with this, the police officer also said that legal measures are under process.
