On the same evening, the shuttle train bound for Chittagong University was cleared at Sholshahar station and the oil train of Dohazari PDB was given the wrong line clearance. Meanwhile, the pointsman forgot the oil train of Dohazari power station leaving from Chittagong by which the tourist express from Cox’s Bazar will arrive Chittagong.Clearance has been given on that line from Patia to Dohazari. Realizing the matter, the PDB oil train driver stopped the train and turned back to clear the line for the tourist express.

Meanwhile, the Chittagong to Cox’s Bazar Eid Special train left at 7 am yesterday and reached Dulhazra station at 9:43 am. Then due to the error of the station master and pointsman, the engine and two coaches of the train were derailed as the line was cleared without setting the point at Cox’s Bazar Eid Special Dulhajra station. The locomaster realized this and stopped the train, saving you from a major accident.

Railway Eastern Divisional Railway Manager Engineer Saiful Islam told Azadi in this regard, The engine and two coaches of the Cox’s Bazar Eid Special train derailed at Dulhajra station due to a mistake by the station master and pointsman. The train has not stopped due to the accident. We kept the train movement normal by crossing the train through the loop line. We have formed a 5-member investigation committee headed by the Divisional Transport Officer in this incident. Station Master and Pointsman have not been recalled. We will take action against those found guilty in the investigation.
