Suspicious of death, after 15 days the body of the bank officer was exhumed in Mirsrai

The body of a bank officer named Azam Khan (46) was exhumed 15 days after his death in Mirsrai, Chittagong. On Wednesday (April 24) at around 11:30 am, the Thana police exhumed the body in the presence of Mirsrai Executive Magistrate Assistant Commissioner (Land) Prashant Chakraborty. After that, Nizampur College Police Investigation Center Incharge (OC) Masud Khan prepared a preliminary report. Finally, the body was sent to Chittagong Medical College (CHMEC) Hospital morgue for post-mortem.

At that time, the plaintiff Azam Khan’s younger sister Nargis Akhtar and her relatives were present. They protested to demand justice for Azam Khan’s murder and exemplary punishment of Azam Khan’s wife and killers.

Azam Khan is the eldest son of Rafiqul Islam Prakash Tuku of Muktar Ahmed Bari, adjacent to Abutorab Bazar, Ward No. 5, Mayani Union, Mirsarai Upazila, Chittagong.

Nizampur College Police Investigation Center Incharge (OC) Masud Khan said, the body was exhumed 15 days after the death. Can’t say anything beyond that. Higher authorities can tell the details subject to the post-mortem report.

Executive Magistrate Government Commissioner (Land) Prashant Chakraborty said, the body has been exhumed and sent for post-mortem on the order of the court.

Azam Khan (46), Fenir branch manager of Bank Asia, died in the hospital on April 9. However, Azam Khan’s wife and in-laws claimed that the death was due to heart disease, but Azam Khan’s sister Nargis Akhtar suspected it because of the confusion. In this incident, Nargis Akhtar filed a murder case against wife Kamrun Nahar (36), wife’s elder sister Lutfar Nahar (39), elder sister’s son Tanveer (31) and wife’s brother Farooq.

Police arrested Azam Khan’s wife Kamrun Nahar in this incident. He is currently in jail. And the court ordered the exhumation of the body for post-mortem.
