Taipei: Medium Tension rises inside Taiwan strait, island nation Defense Department report identified Chinese army Aircraft and ships operating near Taiwan.
As of 6 a.m. local time, 10 Chinese People’s Liberation Army aircraft and 6 Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy ships were detected, according to an official statement.
Of particular concern is that seven aircraft crossed the midline of the Taiwan Strait and violated Taiwan’s Southwest Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ). Taiwan’s armed forces, represented by the Republic of China Armed Forces (ROC Armed Forces), pay close attention to developments and respond appropriately to perceived threats.

Since April, Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense has detected Chinese military aircraft 207 times and naval vessels 144 times. According to “Taiwan News”, since September 2020, China has intensified its use of “gray zone tactics”, deploying military aircraft and ships above the center line and within the Taiwan Air Defense Identification Zone.
