Daily Shiksha.com Reporter : A student named Ishtiaq Waresh Turya of North South University died of heatstroke. He breathed his last on Tuesday night around 9 pm. Shakib Rahman, a teacher in the law department of the university, confirmed his death.
He was a final year student of the 202nd batch of the finance department of Turya University. His village home is in Kazipur of Sirajganj. Turya’s father Wahiduzzaman Minu is also a teacher. He is Assistant Professor at Afzal Hussain Memorial Degree College. Turya was the father’s only child.
After Turya’s death in Dhaka on Tuesday night, he was taken to his home district Sirajganj on Wednesday morning. His funeral will be held at the Sirajganj Aliya Madrasa ground after Zohar prayers.
Expressing grief over Ishtiaq’s death, teacher Shakib Rahman said, it is unimaginable that carrying the body of a child of this age can be difficult for the family.
Meanwhile, North South University has been conducting online classes since April 21 amid severe heat wave. Online classes of the university will continue till April 27.
According to the university, this decision has been taken for the health and safety of the students due to the ongoing heat wave in the country. All university students including Turya were sitting at home and taking online classes at this time.
