A driver was brutally killed to steal an autovan of Ward No. 42 of Pubail of Gazipur metropolis. The police have arrested the mastermind involved in this sensational murder.
On Wednesday (April 24) at noon, the officer in charge of Pubail police station. Kamruzzaman confirmed this information in a press briefing.
It is known that the police recovered the body of autovan driver Kabir Hossain (45), a resident of Mazukhan area, from the slope of the paved road in Padharbaid Kalumarket area of Pubail on the morning of April 11 of this month.
On the evening of April 10, Kabir’s wife left the house with a battery-powered autovan and searched for him at various places after he did not return home at night. His body was found the next day. After killing him, the assailants stole his used battery operated autovan. Kabir’s brother Md Zakir Hossain (32) filed a murder case against the unidentified accused at Pubail police station.

Kamruzzaman said, on Wednesday (April 24) with the help of information technology, SI Humayun Kabir, SI Uttam Kumar Sutradhar, SI Marfat Ali, SI Rafiqul Islam Sangeet Force reviewed the CCTV footage of the incident site and the surrounding area and identified Md. Mohan Mia alias Mumin Mia (28) from Jhenaigati police station area of Sherpur district. ), who has been arrested.
Mohan Mia alias Mumin Mia is the son of Manu Mia of Masjidjam village of Ashtagram police station of Kishoreganj district at present Mazhukhan area under Pubail police station (tenant of Monir Shah’s house).
The accused admitted his involvement in the incident and said that on the night of Moon night i.e. April 11, the accused reached the spot on the way from Mazukhan to Harbaid by hiring an auto van and tried to hijack the auto van.
When the auto van driver stopped him, he stabbed him with a knife, leaving the auto van driver on the side of the road and fled with the auto van. Autovan killed the driver mainly to hijack the autovan. After taking all legal action against the accused, it has been sent to the learned court.
