A Bangladeshi laborer named Rakib Hossain (22) died after being crushed by a rod during the construction work of a building in Singapore. Rakib is the son of Mominur Rahman of Ghiba village bordering Benapole.

According to Rakib’s family sources, on April 7 of this month, while working on the construction of a high-rise building, Rakib was accidentally crushed by a bundle of rods and was seriously injured. Later, he was admitted to the hospital and died last Tuesday (April 23) night after undergoing treatment for 16 days. This news is confirmed by Milan Hossain, the uncle of the deceased Rakib.
He said that last April 7, Rakib was seriously injured when he was hit by a rod while working on a construction site. After the accident, he was rescued and admitted to a hospital in Singapore.

Mominur Rahman, the father of deceased Rakib, said that it has been a year since Rakib went to Singapore. He worked in construction in Singapore. Last April 7, he went to work like every day. On that day around 5 o’clock in the afternoon, while lifting a bundle of iron rods on top of the building, the torsion (iron rope) was torn. He was rescued from there and admitted to a hospital there. He died on April 23 at 11 pm after fighting death in the hospital for 16 days.

Mofizur Rahman Mofiz, chairman of Bahadurpur Union Parishad of Benopole, said that Rakib, who died in Singapore, was a resident of Ghiba village in my union. He is the son of Mominur Rahman of Ghiba village in Benapole.
