The police have arrested 12 people in the case of beating two brothers to death in Faridpur Madhukhali.
District Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Morshed Alam gave this information at a press conference on Tuesday (23 April) around 9 pm.
Speaking about Tuesday’s protest, SP Morshed Alam said that a special interest group has tried to disrupt law and order. I think the protests happened to question the police. The protesters did not take any permission from the police. They staged violence including road blockades from 10 am to 4 pm. In the event of human chain and protest, a case will be filed for the crime of obstructing government work and damaging property.
He said that rumors have been spread on social media about a person killed in police firing. No one died in this incident. A van driver was injured when he fell into the protest. At that time, the police bullets may hit him. The police rescued him and took him to Faridpur Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical College Hospital. Later he was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment. He is currently healthy.

Accused arrested for life sentence
The Superintendent of Police also said that 3 cases have been registered in the case of two brothers being beaten to death. 12 people have been arrested in this incident. Two accused arrested in the case of beating two brothers have given a statement under section 164.
He said that operation is being conducted to arrest UP Chairman Shah Asaduzzaman and UP member Ajit Kumar Biswas. The identities of all those involved in the lynching incident have been identified. Will be arrested shortly.
Earlier, locals blocked the Faridpur-Khulna highway by burning tree stumps and tires to protest the beating of two brothers Ashraful Khan and Arsadul Khan. At that time, when the police tried to remove them from the highway, the situation became heated. 15 people were injured when the police fired bullets and tear shells to calm the situation. Later, law and order forces brought the situation under control in the afternoon.
