Child pornography under the guise of literature, earn thousands of dollars for 3-4 videos

Dhaka: Children’s writer Tipu Kibria. Real name is TIM Fakhruzzaman. This Tipu has become a terrible criminal day by day under the guise of a writer. He is involved in an international child pornography crime ring for money. After his arrest, 25,000 child pornography images and 1,000 videos were found to have been supplied to customers in many countries, including Italy, Australia and Germany. All the affected children are street children. Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) has given this information after the arrest of two members of the gang.

Yesterday (April 23), the team of CTTC’s special action group arrested Bangladeshi ringleader Tipu Kibria and his associate Kamrul Islam alias Sagar from Khilgaon in the capital. A video recording camera, PC, cloud storage including a child were recovered from their house.

CITIS organized a press conference in this regard on Wednesday (April 24) at the DMP Media Center. Additional Commissioner of DMP (CTTC) said. Asaduzzaman said, “He is associated with the international child pornography gang in Bangladesh. Due to his involvement in this heinous crime, he is listed as a child pornography offender in many countries. In June 2014, he was first arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police based on an Interpol tip for his involvement in the production and trafficking of child pornography. Tipu was released from prison in 2021 after spending six years in prison in that incident. However, his nature has not changed. CTTC arrested Tipu who was under surveillance again for the same crime.

He said, ‘He used to entice street children from different areas of the country including Gulistan, Ramna Park, Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka to engage in pornography. Later, he would take pornographic and private pictures and videos of them and send them to international buyers. Apart from this, they used to take pornographic videos of street children in forests and forests as per their demand. Later he would upload these videos to various pornography sites.

In response to a question, Asaduzzaman said, ‘Tipu used to bring these street children with the temptation of only five hundred to one thousand rupees. Apart from Kamrul, he has many associates in his circle. The gang members also transacted money through Western Union and some MFS. He used to get thousands of dollars by sending 3-4 short videos. He has agents in different parts of the country. We have identified several such agents. As many as 25-30 child victims have also been identified. All the victims are boys. There are many of them.’
