Dhaka: In the space of a day, the price of gold has been reduced once again in the wake of a fall in the price of acid gold (ripe gold) in the local market. The price of the best quality or 22 carat gold (11.664 grams) has been reduced by Tk 2,100.
In this, the price of one bar of good quality gold has increased to 1 lakh 14 thousand 190 taka. This price is effective from 4:50 PM on Wednesday.
On Wednesday (April 24), the Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring Committee of Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) decided to reduce the price. Later this information was informed in a circular signed by the chairman of the committee, Masudur Rahman. Bajus said.
According to the notification, the price of acidic gold has decreased in the local market. Therefore, taking into account the overall situation, Bajus has fixed the new price of gold, which is effective from 4:50 PM on Wednesday.
According to the new prices, the price of one bar of best quality or 22 carat gold has been reduced by Tk 2,100 to Tk 1,14,190. The price of a 21 carat gold bar has been reduced from Tk 1,994 to Tk 1,900.
Besides, the price of 18 carat gold has been reduced by 1 thousand 715 taka to 93 thousand 1428 taka. And the price of traditional gold has been reduced from 1 thousand 377 taka to 75 thousand 209 taka.
Silver price remains unchanged. The price of one piece of 22 carat silver is Tk 2,100, the price of one piece of 21 carat silver is Tk 2,06, the price of one piece of 18 carat silver is Tk 1,715 and the price of one piece of traditional silver is Tk 1,283.
However, while buying gold jewelry, the buyer has to pay more than the Bajus declared price. Because gold jewelery is sold by adding 5 percent VAT on the price set by Bajus. Along with that, the minimum wage per worker is 3 thousand 499 taka.
Earlier on Tuesday (April 23), the price of one bar of 22 carat gold was reduced by 3 thousand 137 taka to 1 lakh 16 thousand 290 taka, the price of one bar of 21 carat gold was reduced by 3 thousand 10 taka to 1 lakh 10 thousand 994 taka, the price of one bar of 18 carat gold 2 thousand 566 rupees reduced to 95 thousand 143 rupees and the price of traditional method of gold was reduced by 2 thousand 76 rupees to 76 thousand 586 rupees.
