Two students die: Chuet protests continue for third day – University

Daily Shiksha.com, Chittagong : The campus is still hot over the death of two students of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CHUTE) in a head-on collision between a bus and a motorcycle in Rangunia.

Students have been protesting by blocking the road in front of the university since 12 noon on Wednesday for the third day. Hundreds of cars are stuck on both sides of the road.

Earlier on April 22 at 3 pm, a bus and a motorcycle collided at Selima Quader College Gate area of ​​Chittagong-Kaptai road. Two students of Chuet named Shanto Saha and Taufiq Hossain were killed on the spot.

Since the incident, the students protested in Chuet campus area. They protested for the last two days as well.

During the protest, the students raised seven points of demand. They also announced that they will continue their agitation until these demands are met.

The demands of the students are- through a lawsuit from the university administration for the murder of Tawfiq and Shant, compensation and Shah Amanat bus authority should take responsibility for the treatment of the injured Chuet student Himu, all local buses including Shah Amanat and AB Travels should be stopped on the Chittagong-Kaptai highway, buses in Chuet Adequacy should be ensured and provision of Chute Ambulance with oxygen cylinders with modern equipment, capacity of Chute Medical Center should be increased.
