Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has announced a reduction in the price of gold. The price of good quality gold has been reduced by Tk 2 thousand 99. Now the price of a 22 carat gold bar is reduced by Tk 1 lakh 14 thousand 190. Earlier the price was 1 lakh 16 thousand 290 taka.
This information was informed in a press release signed by Chairman Masudur Rahman of Bajus Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee on Wednesday (April 24).
Earlier, Bajus had increased the price of gold on 6, 8 and 18 of the current month of April. Among them, 1750 taka was increased on 6 April, 1750 taka on 8 April and 2 thousand 65 taka on 18 April. Later, on April 20, after a day of reduction of Tk 840, on April 21, Bajus again increased the load by Tk 630. After that Bajus announced reduction of 3138 and 2099 taka in Dufay Bhari.
According to the association of gold traders, the price of acid gold has decreased in the local market. The new price of gold is fixed keeping in view the overall situation. The new prices will be effective from 24 April 4 PM onwards.
According to the new prices, the price of best quality or 22 carat (11.664 grams) gold will be Tk 1 lakh 14 thousand 191, 21 carat gold price will be Tk 1 lakh 9 thousand, 18 carat Tk 93 thousand 428 and traditional method gold will be priced at Rs. 75 thousand 209 taka.
The price of gold has been reduced but the price of silver has been kept unchanged. According to the category, currently the price of 22 carat silver is 2 thousand 100 taka, 21 carat price is 2 thousand 6 taka, 18 carat price is 1715 taka and traditional method silver price is 1 thousand 283 taka.
