At least 35 migrants have been reported dead after a boat carrying migrants capsized off the coast of Djibouti in the Red Sea. Among the dead migrants are children.

According to the report, 19 migrants have died in the North African country of Tunisia. On the other hand, 16 people have died and 28 others are missing after a boat capsized off the coast of Djibouti.
The Tunisian Coast Guard said that the bodies of 19 people have been recovered so far. They were trying to go to Italy, a European country.
Desperation and fear were evident in the faces of the survivors brought to the town of Gadoria on the coast of Djibouti after the rescue. Later they were taken to the hospital for treatment. Later the United Nations Migration Agency IOM repatriated them to Ethiopia.
Iss Eiyah, a senior official at the Djibouti Coast Guard, said those on board the sunken boat wanted to leave Yemen. Because life there was more of a struggle than in their own country.
Ethiopia’s ambassador to Djibouti, Berhanu Segaye, expressed grief over the death of the migrants on the social media platform X. “Illegal travel from Djibouti to Middle Eastern countries is extremely dangerous and our citizens are constantly losing their lives,” he said.
Incidentally, every year thousands of African migrants try to cross the Red Sea to Saudi Arabia in the hope of war, natural disasters and a better life. Many died in the boat sinking.
