Woman dies after being hit by a train in Lalmonirhat –

An unbalanced woman named Mamata Begum (40) died after being hit by a train in Lalmonirhat Patgram.

The accident happened on Wednesday (April 24) at 11:30 in the upazila’s Khanpara Harisva Bazar area. The deceased Mamata is the daughter of deceased Badir Uddin of that area.

According to the police and local sources, the deceased Mamata Begum was mentally unbalanced for a long time and was hearing less. While walking on the railway line, he was hit by a Burimari-bound local train leaving Lalmonirhat and fell on the side of the railway line with serious injuries on his head and face and died on the spot. After the accident, the local people who were nearby went and found Mamata’s frozen body lying there and informed her family members and Patgram police station.

Officer-in-charge of Patgram police station OC Abu Saeed Chowdhury said that the police was sent to the spot as soon as the news of the death of a person named Mosha Mamta Begum was reported by the train. Later, necessary legal action will be taken in this regard.
