Habiganj: Three day laborers died in Habiganj district due to intense heat for a few days. They are residents of Madhavpur and Lakhai upazilas of the district.
They died of heat stroke in the last three days. Police and various local sources have confirmed this information to BanglaNews.
The deceased are Raihan Uddin (22) son of Saim Uddin of Talebpur village in Madhavpur upazila, Ferdous Mia (55) of Kulaichar village of the same upazila and Awal Mia (45) son of deceased Azam Ali of Sinhagram in Lakhai upazila.
According to local sources, Raihan Uddin, a battery-powered easybike driver, fainted in the intense heat on Tuesday (April 23) in Madhavpur upazila. Later, when the people around took him to Madhavpur Upazila Health Complex, the doctor declared him dead.
Earlier, Awal Mia of Lakhai Upazila suddenly collapsed on the road in front of Dhaka Medical College while driving a rickshaw in the capital last Monday (April 22). At that time there were two passengers in his rickshaw.
Later, the nearby policemen took Awal Mia to the hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead. After examination, it was found that he died of heat stroke. Burial of rickshaw puller Awal Mia was completed in his area yesterday.
Earlier, a farmer named Ferdous Mia of Madhavpur upazila died in intense heat last Sunday.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Kashimnagar Police Outpost of Upazila Fazlul Haque said that on Sunday afternoon, Ferdous Mia went to Kashimnagar market and fell ill suddenly. Later, relatives took him to Madhavpur Health Complex, where the attending doctor declared him dead.
