North South University finance student Ishtiaq Waresh Turya has passed away. He died on Tuesday (April 23) around 9 pm. His relatives believe that he died of heat stroke due to intense heat wave.

Asif Bin Ali, a teacher of the journalism department of North South University and the deputy director of the public relations office, told Jago News this information.

He said, our student Ishtiaq Waresh lived in Turya Bashundhara residential area. He fell ill on Tuesday around 9 pm and was taken to the hospital. The doctor declared him dead there. His family and relatives believe that he died of heat stroke. We are deeply saddened by his death.

Ishtiaq Waresh was a final year student of the 202nd batch of Finance Department of Turya University. His village home is in Kazipur of Sirajganj.

Turya’s father, Wahiduzzaman Minu, is an assistant professor at Afzal Hossain Memorial Degree College. Turya was the father’s only child.

Meanwhile, after Turya’s death in Dhaka on Tuesday night, his body was taken to his home district Sirajganj on Wednesday (April 24) morning. His funeral will be held at Aliya Madrasa Ground, Bad Johar, Sirajganj.

North South University has been conducting online classes since April 21 due to severe heat wave. The online classes of the university will continue till April 27.

According to the university, this decision has been taken for the health and safety of the students due to the ongoing heat wave in the country. All the students of the university including Turya were sitting at home and taking online classes.
