Sirajganj: Moderate heatwave is blowing in Sirajganj. The maximum temperature was recorded at two weather stations in the district.

Meanwhile, two farmers have died due to heat stroke in the district.

Farmer Afsar Ali (65) died of heat stroke while working in the field at Kalupara in Naogaon Union of Tarash Upazila on Tuesday (April 23) morning and Pear Bepari (75), a farmer at Patagram in Gandhail Union of Kazipur Upazila, died of heat stroke at noon on the same day.

Eyewitnesses said that on Tuesday morning, Afsar Ali left home to do agricultural work in the field. Later he died on the spot due to heat stroke while working.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tarash police station. Nazrul Islam said, I heard that a farmer named Afsar Ali died of heat stroke in Kalupara.

Gandhail Union Member (UP Member) Abu Bakar Siddique confirmed this information and said that on Tuesday afternoon, old Payar Ali woke up and grazed in the Yamuna to see his agricultural land. There he died of heat stroke.

Meanwhile, Sirajganj has been experiencing the highest temperature ever for the past three days. According to Tarash Meteorological Observatory office, maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius was recorded on Tuesday. The maximum temperature on Sunday (April 21) was 39.5 degrees Celsius, which is the highest ever recorded. The temperature on Monday (April 22) was 38.6 degrees Celsius.

On the other hand, Baghabari Meteorological Office sources in Shahjadpur said that the highest temperature was recorded here on Tuesday at 39.4 degrees Celsius. On April 20, a temperature of 41 degrees Celsius was recorded, which is the highest ever recorded. The maximum temperature at this station was 40.5 degrees Celsius on April 21 and 40 degrees Celsius on April 22.

Officer-in-charge of Tarash Meteorological Office. Zahidul Islam said that a moderate heatwave has been going on in Sirajganj for the past few days. This heat wave will remain throughout the month of April.

The officer in charge of Baghabari Meteorological Office. Mustafa Kamal said, Baghabari recorded the highest temperature of 41 degrees Celsius on April 20. Which is the highest temperature in the region.
