26 people died of heat stroke in five days from April 19 across the country including Dhaka. Meanwhile, today is Tuesday across the country 11 John’s death has been reported.
According to the news received till 11 pm on Tuesday, two people died in Sirajganj and one each in capital Dhaka, Jamalpur, Mymensingh Patuakhali, Natore and Comilla, Khulna and Sherpur.

Dhaka: A person named Alamgir Sikder (56) died of heatstroke in the capital. On his way to work, he came to Gulistan and fell down on the road when he got out of the car.
After that, when he was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, the doctor in charge declared him dead.
The incident took place in front of Gulistan Toll Plaza under Wari police station on Tuesday morning. Deceased Alamgir Sikdar used to work as a binder in a printing press.
He is a permanent resident of Dhaka’s South Kajla Nayanagar Jatrabari. His father’s name is Zamir Sikdar. He is the father of three sons and one daughter.
Alamgir Sikdar was rescued unconscious and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 11:15. Then the doctor on duty declared him dead after examination.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Wari Police Station Shah Alam confirmed the matter and said that it is believed that he died of heatstroke. Quoting the people around the scene, he said, the man left the house for work. Gulistan was walking down the car at the toll plaza. At that time, when he fell down, the people around him rescued him in an unconscious state and took him to the emergency department of DMK Hospital. Then the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Rabiul Alam, younger brother of the deceased, said, ‘His brother used to do binding work in a printing press. In the morning he left home for work. After getting the news, I came to DMK Hospital and found him dead.’
Jamalpur: A pepper trader named Gholam Rabbani died in Jamalpur’s Islampur. Golam Rabbani suddenly fell ill due to excessive heat in Foliamari village of the upazila around 11 o’clock on Tuesday. The dead Golam Rabbani of Folimari village. Mohr’s son He used to trade pepper in Guthail Bazar.
Locals said that Golam Rabbani suddenly fell ill at home due to excessive heat in the morning. When he was taken to the Upazila Health Complex, the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Islampur upazila health complex official Dr. AAM Abu Taher said, we believe that Ghulam Rabbani died of heat stroke due to excessive heat.
Mymensingh: Phulpur Upazila in Mymensingh. A Shilpata worker named Ramzan Ali (68) died. The death occurred in Imatpur village of Koira Union number 6 of the upazila on Tuesday afternoon.
Deceased Ramzan Ali was a resident of Bagirpara village of Kakani Union number 3 of Tarakanda Upazila.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Phulpur police station. Mahabubur Rahman confirmed the truth of this death.
Former UP member of ward number 9. Tariqur Rahman Khandaker Rashed said, ‘Ramzan Ali used to go around the village and work to cut the silk of the spice mill. As usual, this morning he left home for work and went to Imatpur in the neighboring Phulpur Upazila. He died of heat stroke in the afternoon while working there.’
Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Humayan Kabir said, ‘Ramzan Ali died before coming to the hospital. However, the exact cause of his death is not known. He is believed to have died of heatstroke due to excessive heat.’
Sirajganj: Two farmers have died in Sirajganj. Farmer Afsar Ali (65) died of heat stroke while working in the field at Kalupara of Naogaon Union of Tarash Upazila on Tuesday morning and Payar Bepari (75), a farmer of Patagram of Gandhail Union of Kazipur Upazila, died of heat stroke in the afternoon.
Eyewitnesses said that on Tuesday morning, Afsar Ali left home to do agricultural work in the field. Later he died on the spot due to heat stroke while working.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tarash police station. Nazrul Islam said, I heard that a farmer named Afsar Ali died of heat stroke in Kalupara.
Gandhail Union member (UP member) Abu Bakar Siddique confirmed this information and said, ‘On Tuesday afternoon, old Payar Ali wakes up and grazes in the Yamuna to see his agricultural land. There he died of heat stroke.’
Patuakhali: A policeman named Mohammad Shah-Alam (50) died in Baufal of Patuakhali.
He was working in the Dhaka Intelligence Branch (DB) of the police. Last Saturday he came to his village home Baufal on vacation.
He fell ill suddenly on Monday (22 April) at around 9 pm. He was taken to Baufal Hospital in an ill condition and from there he was sent to Barisal. He died before reaching Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital, Barisal.
Doctors at the emergency department of Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital confirmed to his family on Tuesday that he had suffered a heat stroke.
Natore: A farmer named Rakul Hossain (30) died of ‘heat stroke’ while working in the afternoon field at Baraigram in Natore.
The incident took place at Satil Bill of Chandai Union of the upazila around 12:30 pm on Tuesday. He is the son of Haji Abdur Rahim of Garfa Uttarpara village.
Chandai UP Chairman Shahnaz Parveen said that Bakul was working in the agricultural land since morning. Unable to bear the intense heat, he fell ill at one stage of the work. When he felt ill, he tried to go to the nearby reservoir but could not reach it, but fell and died on the way. Other farmers came to know the matter and rescued the body and brought it home.
Comilla: A laborer named Mojibur Rahman (45) died of heat stroke in Comilla’s Burichong.
He died of heatstroke on Tuesday due to heatstroke. The deceased is the son of Alfaz Uddin of Nizam Haji’s house of Jagatpur village of Sadar Upazila of Mujibur.
According to local sources, Burichong businessman Md. Mojibur went to work at Ruhul Amin’s house. He heatstrokes while cutting the beige of the building. At that time the locals took him to Burichong Upazila Health Complex. The doctor on duty there declared him dead.
After receiving the news, the SI of Burichong police station said. Nurul Islam prepared a surathal report from Burichong Upazila Health Complex and took it to the police station.
SI Md Nurul Islam said, ‘There is no sign of injury on the body. It means that he died of a stroke. But when the post-mortem report comes, the truth can be said.’
Khulna: An unidentified person (60) died of heat stroke in Khulna. He died in front of Khulna Regional Cancer Hospital and Research Institute in Aranghata Police Station area of the city on Tuesday around 4:30 pm. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Arangghata Police Station Hasan Al Mamun said, ‘The person used to roam around as a vagabond in the Arangghata area for quite some time. No one knows his identity. It is initially believed that he died of heatstroke due to the heat.’
Sherpur: A youth named Al Amin (35) died in Kanduli village of Dhanshail Union of Jhenaigati Upazila of Sherpur. On Tuesday afternoon, he was taken to Sherpur district hospital where he was declared dead by the doctor on duty after suffering from ‘heat stroke’. The deceased Al Amin is the son of Farz Uddin of Kanduli village of Jhenaigati upazila. According to family sources, Al Amin of Kanduli village of Dhanshail Union suffered from heat stroke while taking food to threshing workers. Later he was rushed to Sherpur District Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead. Dhanshail Union Chairman Safiqul Islam confirmed the truth of the incident and said, ‘Al Amin died due to excessive heat.’
Earlier, one person died in Chittagong last Friday, one each in Dhaka, Pabna and Chuadanga on Saturday, two in Dinajpur on Sunday and one each in Pabna, Meherpur, Narsingdi, Shariatpur, Jhalkathi and Sylhet, two in Chuadanga and one in the capital on Monday.
