Miscreants hacked a youth to death in a Rohingya camp in Ukhia, Cox’s Bazar.
He was hacked to death near the mosque in D Block of Ukhiya Camp-II W around 6 pm on Tuesday (April 23).
The officer in charge (OC) of Ukhia police station confirmed the matter. Shamim Hossain.
The name of the dead Rohingya youth is Syedul Amin (45). He is the son of Ashraf Ali of A/11 block of the camp.
OC Md. Shamim Hossain said that at around 6 pm on Tuesday evening, Syedul Amin, a resident of A/11 of Rohingya Camp-2W, was run away after being stabbed by unknown terrorists with a sharp weapon. Syedul Amin died on the spot due to excessive bleeding due to sharp weapon injuries.
The OC also said that the police are still not sure who caused the murder. However, the police initially believe that the murder was committed due to the domination of the Rohingya camp.
Police is conducting an operation to arrest those involved in the incident. The body was recovered and sent to Cox’s Bazar District Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
