A young man named Syedul Amin was hacked to death by terrorists in Rohingya camp in Ukhia, Cox’s Bazar. The incident took place on Tuesday (April 23) around 6:30 pm near the mosque of Ukhiyar Camp-2 WD Block.
The deceased Syedul Amin is the son of Ashraf Ali of A/11 Block of Ukhia Camp.
OC of Ukhia Police Station. Shamim Hossain confirmed the matter yesterday.
He said that at around 6 pm on Tuesday evening, Syedul Amin, a resident of Rohingya Camp-2W, A/11, was run away after being stabbed by unknown terrorists in various parts of his body including his head with sharp weapons. Syedul Amin died on the spot due to excessive bleeding due to sharp weapon injuries.
He also said that the police are still not sure who and what caused the murder. However, it is initially believed that the murder was committed due to the domination of the Rohingya camp. Police are conducting an operation to arrest those involved in the incident. The body was recovered and sent to Cox’s Bazar District Sadar Hospital Morgue for autopsy.
Local UP member Helal Uddin Chowdhury said that the incident of murder in Rohingya camp is not new. They are so violent that they don’t hesitate to do any major unpleasant incident over a small matter. Combing operation has become necessary in the camp.
