Young man hacked to death in Rohingya camp

Miscreants hacked a youth to death in a Rohingya camp in Ukhia, Cox’s Bazar. He was hacked to death near the mosque in D Block of Ukhiya Camp-II W around 6 pm on Tuesday (April 23). The deceased Rohingya Syedul Amin (45) is the son of Ashraf Ali of A/11 block of that camp.

The matter was confirmed by the OC of Ukhia police station. Shamim Hossain.

He said that at around 6 pm on Tuesday evening, Syedul Amin, a resident of A/11 of Rohingya Camp-2W, was run away after being stabbed in different parts of the body with sharp weapons. Syedul Amin died on the spot due to excessive bleeding due to sharp weapon injuries.

OC said, the police is still not sure who caused the murder. However, the police initially believe that the murder was committed due to the domination of the Rohingya camp.

Police are conducting operations to arrest those involved in the incident. The body was recovered and sent to Cox’s Bazar District Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
