The Prime Minister himself said bad things about the minorities in the face of the vote. The opposition alleged that he insulted the Muslims of the country while attacking the Congress. Lok Sabha polls have already started across the country. Electoral code of conduct has also been implemented across the country. At this time, the question has been raised as to how appropriate it is to make such a speech as the Prime Minister of the country. Questions have also been raised about the role of the Election Commission.

Congress has already approached the Election Commission regarding the matter. Two more letters have been submitted to the commission by the citizens. In a public meeting recently, the Prime Minister said that Congress’s intention is to take away Sondana, Mangalsutra from women and distribute them among special groups. Modi also said that if the Congress comes to power, it will distribute the property among the ‘Ghuspetiyas’. The Prime Minister’s speech is being discussed in various quarters. Not only Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah has repeatedly heard the minority theory before the polls. He has repeatedly highlighted the efforts of the Modi government to stop infiltration.

Congress leader and Sonia’s daughter Priyanka Gandhi countered Modi’s Mangalsutra statement. Strongly opposing Modi’s statement, Priyanka said, ‘For the last two days, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been saying that the Congress party wants to take away your mangalsutra, sonadana. It has been more than 70 years, the country is now independent. Congress was in power for 55 years. Ever had your home gold stolen? Your mangalsutra? When our country was at war, Indira Gandhi donated her jewelry for the country. My mother’s mangalsutra was sacrificed for this country. It is not possible for the BJP to understand them.’

Modi’s statement added fuel to the fire before the polls. Before the polls, the matter of electoral bond corruption of BJP came to the fore. The home ministry of the country hastily implemented the CAA to divert people’s attention from that corruption. Since then, there have been massive protests against the CAA in different parts of the country. Several states like Assam, Bengal have directly opposed this CAA Act. Since then, Modi-Shahra has repeatedly attacked minorities in various public meetings.

Priyanka Gandhi strongly condemned this aspect of BJP in a public meeting in Bengaluru recently. In his words, “The leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party cannot understand the sacrifice of women. Sacrifice for the country is in the blood of our women. This is the culture of the country. Mothers and sisters here have laid down their lives for the country. Until every member of the house returns home, they sit awake.” Women. When there is a financial crisis in the family, women do not hesitate to open their neck jewelry. Priyanka also highlighted the contribution of women in her speech by mentioning demonetisation, lockdown in Corona situation and farmers’ movement. He said, “If Modiji had understood the importance of Mangalsutra, he would not have said such immoral things. When there was demonetisation, there was a farmer’s movement in the country, how many women were robbed of their Mangalsutra and widowed, remember? When a woman was paraded naked in Manipur, why? Modi ji was silent? He is talking so big for the vote.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission is shaken by Modi’s speech. Rajasthan’s Banshwara referred to the Congress manifesto and an old speech by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the meeting. The statement was used as proof of Congress’s minority appeasement. Congress approached the commission claiming that Modi’s statement was non-communal and a violation of the country’s election code of conduct. CPIM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury also wrote a letter to the Election Commission with the same demand. Although the Election Commission did not want to comment on this on Monday, they later said that they are considering the matter.

Will BJP’s hate speech have any effect on the ballot box? Or will the countrymen who are indulging in the opium of Hinduism continue to clap their hands after listening to the non-communal, unconstitutional speech of the government, as it was given that day in the public meeting in Rajasthan. Will the BJP really suffer from spreading hatred against minorities? The answer will be on June 4.
