Definitely visit the dyer mill in Brahmanbaria

Representatives of Kushtia and Brahmanbaria

A circular was issued on February 21 making it mandatory to write the price of the rice sack from the first Baisakh, as well as the type of rice, the name of the mill and the date of production. A public notice is also given in the newspaper.

Although it has been made mandatory from the first Baisakh, the mill owners of Kushtia have not started writing the price of rice, variety of rice, name of the mill and date of production on the bags till yesterday. Along with these information, there should be weight information as well. Without these information, rice is available in the market as before. Meanwhile, District Food Controller (DC Food) Alamgir Kabir visited Dyer Mill in Ashuganj of Brahmanbaria yesterday to implement the instructions of the Ministry of Food.

He said that after recently visiting some rice producing districts of the country, it has been confirmed that rice produced from the same type of rice is being sold in the market under different names and prices. Millers, wholesalers, retailers blame each other when the price of rice goes to unreasonable levels or suddenly increases. To overcome this situation, the Ministry of Food has issued this directive to ensure that rice is marketed in the name of rice to keep the market price of rice at a reasonable and reasonable level and to facilitate the monitoring of related activities. Which came into effect from the first Baisakh.

‘Rice produced from the same variety of paddy is being sold under different names and prices. Millers, wholesalers, retailers blame each other when the price of rice goes to an unreasonable level or rises suddenly.

It is known that the food ministry issued a circular on February 21 making it mandatory to write the price on rice sacks from the first Baishakh, along with the type of rice, the name of the mill and the date of production. The government also issued a public notice in this regard. The owners of rice mills are not obeying the government’s instructions to control the price of rice despite raising the price of rice on lame pretexts. The Kushtia municipal market was seen to be selling rice as before. The bag has the name of the company and the Bahari name of the rice. But according to the government circular, there is no name of the price or the variety of rice.

Consumer Rabiul Islam said, we are hostage to the rice syndicate. Increase the price as desired. They would have come under some control if the price was written on the bag. But still that initiative is not seen to be implemented.

Omar Farooq, president of Autorice Mill Association Kushtia, said that it will not happen if the government gives instructions. Implementation will take time. Company name, name of rice should be filled with rice in the bag and the price and date should be written. They do not know of any machine to write or print it. This machine is allowed to be made. If it is ready, the instructions of the government will be implemented. Kushtia DC Ehetesham Reza said that the administration has also contacted the mill owners from where they will get the machine. Newly produced rice must be sold in the market with price and date.
