Chinese-owned company SBS Zipper Bangladesh Company Limited is going to set up a garment accessories factory in Bepja Economic Zone with an investment of USD 19.97 million.
To this end, the Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Authority (BEPZA) signed an agreement with the company in Dhaka on Tuesday.
In the presence of Bepza Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, Bepza Member (Investment Development) Ali Reza Majid and SBS Zipper Bangladesh Company Limited Chief Executive Officer Waifang Shen signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
The Chinese company will annually produce 271 million pieces of metal zippers, nylon or plastic zippers, sliders, chains, zipper parts, tapes, plastic buttons, button parts, molds, which will create employment opportunities for 2063 Bangladeshi citizens.
Bepza Executive Chairman thanked SBS Zipper for selecting Bepza Economic Zone as an investment destination. He assured SBS Zipper Bangladesh to provide all round-the-clock services to start their production and export.
At the agreement signing ceremony Bepza Member (Engineering) Mohammad Farooq Alam, Member (Finance) Md Ashraful Kabir, Executive Director (Administration) ANM Faizul Haque, Executive Director (Investment Development) Md Tanveer Hossain, Executive Director (Enterprise Services) Md. : Khurshid Alam and Executive Director (Public Relations) A.S.M. Representatives of the company including Anwar Parvez were present at this time.
It should be noted that SBS Zipper Bangladesh Company Limited is a subsidiary of SBS Zipper, one of the world’s largest zipper manufacturing companies, which is the first in China and the second in the world in the production of global zippers.
