Two students of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CHUTE) died and another student was injured in a collision between a bus and a motorcycle.
The accident took place on the Chittagong-Kaptai road near Selina Quader Chowdhury College in Rangunia Upazila of Chittagong on Monday afternoon.
The deceased are Shanto Saha of the 20th batch and Taufiq Hossain of the 21st batch of Chuet Civil Engineering Department.
Rangunia police station OC Chandan Kumar Chakraborty told bdnews24.com, “In the afternoon, there was a head-on collision between a bus and a motorcycle of students.
“Two students of Chuet died in this accident. Another person was seriously injured. He has been sent to Chittagong Medical College (CHMEC) Hospital.”
He said that the bus was impounded but the driver escaped.
Chuet Assistant Director (Public Relations) Muhammad Rashedul Islam told bdnews24.com that Shanto Saha is the son of Kajal Saha of Ward No. 4 of Narsingdi Sadar. And Taufiq Hossain is the son of Mohammad Delwar Hossain of ward number 2 of Sudharam, Noakhali.
The injured Zakaria Himu is a 21st batch student of Chuet. His department and address were not immediately known.
