Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has arrived in Dhaka on a two-day visit. He will hold a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday (April 23) morning, the last day of the visit. Agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed between the two countries after the meeting between the two heads of state.

The Emir of Qatar arrived in Dhaka on a special flight on Monday (April 22) around 5 pm. President Md. Sahabuddin welcomed him at the airport.

It is reported that 11 agreements and memorandum of understanding (MOU) are to be signed between Bangladesh and Qatar during the Amir’s visit. Among them are 6 agreements and 5 MoUs. In addition to trade and investment, his visit will also discuss the special situation in the Middle East resulting from the Iran-Israel conflict.

The Emir of Qatar will pay a courtesy call on the President at Bangabhaban this afternoon. He will leave Dhaka by special flight in the evening.

Roads and parks named after Emir of Qatar in Dhaka

A road and a park in the capital are being named after the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The park to be built in Balur field in Kalshi area of ​​Mirpur under Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and the road from Mirpur ECB square to Kalshi Flyover will be named after him.

It should be noted that this is the first time since 2005 that an Emir of Qatar is visiting Dhaka.
