In Savar, a woman named Amina Khatun (56) died after being beaten up by her younger brother while undergoing treatment. Savar Model Police Station arrested the accused brother in this incident.
The woman died while undergoing treatment at Savar Enam Medical College Hospital on Monday (April 22) around 8:30 pm. Earlier on Thursday (April 18), the beating happened at his home in Sobhapur of Rajfulbaria area of Savar’s Tentuljhora union.
Amina Khatun is the wife of Arafat Ali Bepari of Sobhapur Mahalla of Rajfulbaria area of Tentuljhora Union of Savar. The arrested Ainuddin (50) is the son of deceased Shamsuddin of Sobhapur village of Rajfulbaria area of Tentuljhora union of Savar.
Billal Hossain, son of deceased Amina Khatun, told Dhaka Post that there is a drain near our house. On Thursday, my uncle Ainuddin came to our house and started scolding my mother about that drain. At that time, when uncle went outside the gate of the house, mother closed the gate. The uncle got excited and brought a branch of a guava tree from the neighboring house and beat the mother. Later on Friday morning, due to the beating, my mother’s condition deteriorated and I was admitted to Savar Upazila Health Complex Hospital. After that, when the physical condition further deteriorated, I was admitted to Enam Medical College Hospital on Saturday morning. The mother died there on Monday while undergoing treatment.
Savar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Shah Zaman told Dhaka Post that after receiving the information, the body of the deceased was recovered after visiting the scene. There are injury marks on the body of the deceased. Also, the brother of the victim involved in the beating incident has been arrested. Preparations are underway to file a case at Savar Model Police Station in this incident.
