Police arrested husband Sudhanshu Barman (47) on charges of beating his wife to death over a family incident at Rajarhat in Kurigram. Later he was sent to jail through the court.

The arrested husband is the son of Khokaram Burman of Poddarpara area of ​​Rajarhat Upazila.

According to the police, the accused husband Sudhanshu assaulted his wife Gayatri Rani alias Batasi (40) with the intention of killing her due to family issues and seriously injured her. Later on Sunday morning Gayatri Rani aka Batasi died. After the incident, the victim’s father, Devendra Nath Barman, filed a murder case at the Rajarhat police station as the plaintiff on Sunday.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rajarhat police station Mostafizur Rahman said that they were able to arrest the killer husband within two and a half hours of filing the murder case at the police station. The post-mortem was completed on Monday and the body was handed over to the family. The case is under investigation.
