Cleveland – Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs was sent back to the locker room after suffering a left leg injury in the first quarter of Monday night’s Game 2 against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Suggs was helped off the court with 4:02 left in the quarter and was unable to put any weight on his feet. Suggs appeared to be crying as he was taken away for treatment and further evaluation.

The Magic did not immediately disclose his condition, but Suggs’ injury appears to be serious.

The third-year guard went down after making contact with Cavaliers All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell, who was fouled on the play. Suggs grabbed his feet as teammates gathered around him.

Orlando’s entire bench came to test Suggs, who averaged 12.6 points and 2.7 assists in 75 games this season.

In the first game, Suggs had 13 points and 4 assists on 4 of 16 shooting and ended up losing 97-83.

Orlando’s top defensive back Markelle Fultz replaces Suggs.

Suggs was the No. 5 overall pick in 2021 after playing at Gonzaga.
