In Pirojpur, a youth named Sohag Sheikh (33) is being hacked to death by the opponents due to previous enmity.
The incident took place at Bhairampur village of Kadamtala Union of Sadar Upazila on Monday around 10:00 PM. The deceased Sohag Sheikh is the son of Siddique Sheikh, a resident of Bhairampur village.
According to local sources, Sohag and his family had a dispute with one party over the dominance of the area. A person named Shahidul was murdered after the last UP elections. In that case, the deceased Sohag Sheikh was made the main accused. Locals believe that this killing may happen because of that previous enmity.
Samsur Rahman, the niece of the deceased, said that at night, near the house of Sohags, near the mosque of Matubbar house, some locals including Shamsu and Imam started beating Sohags. When they shouted Dak, they left Sohag. They have been threatened to kill them several times before.
Local UP member Mizan Howladar said Sohag was found dead after being chopped and left behind. Sohag’s sister-in-law Samsur Rahman was nearby during the incident. He saw who did it. Some people had enmity with the Sohags for dominance in the area. A person named Shahidul was murdered after the last UP elections. They made Sohag the number one accused in that case.
