Upazila elections are blowing across the country. Like the rest of the country, tension is prevailing in Narayanganj around this election. Sadar is the most important upazila among the 5 upazilas of Narayanganj. But the election was stopped for a long time due to the complicated case related to the border. However, after the schedule of the Election Commission, there is a lot of interest around the Sadar Upazila Parishad elections.

According to the schedule, the election was supposed to be held in the first phase on May 8. By doing this, everyone assumed that the complexity of the case may have been resolved. All the potential candidates have expressed their electoral interest through various channels. The leaders and voters of this upazila were divided into two groups to favor their preferred candidates. But to everyone’s surprise, the Election Commission again ordered the postponement of the Upazila Parishad elections till April 22.

According to information, the Election Commission ordered the postponement of the election till April 22 to comply with an order given by the Appellate Division on March 27. The hearing will be held after April 22. After the hearing, if the verdict is in favor of the election, the election will be held on any one of the four dates fixed for the upazila election. If the verdict is in favor of the election, then it is believed that the possibility of the election in the last phase is high.

On the other hand, as the election has been postponed even after the schedule, the candidates are in dire straits. So far they have not been given any instructions from the party high command and even there has been no discussion with them in this regard. But in the end, the question of whether or not there will be an election is everywhere.

Because, the upazila residents have extreme anger towards those who are in charge of the current council of Sadar Upazila, saying that they are not people-friendly at all. In such a situation, if the election is stopped by repeating the old tricks, then the upazilas of Sadar will be deprived of development. So all the candidates from the voters are asking that since the moratorium on the elections is ending today, what is the decision of the Election Commission regarding the elections in this upazila.
